Overview:
This workshop teaches participants the aspects of writing audit reports. You will learn to: (1) write reports in order for readers to find facts to form decisions, and (2) interest your clients in implementing as many of your recommendations as possible. This course is geared toward financial, operational, internal and federal auditors with less than two years of experience; financial managers; new staff accountants; and new management analysts and consultants.
Objectives:
At the end of the workshop participants should be able to:
- Design a report to solve the problem of multiple
audiences
- Understand Clear Condition and Root Cause
Analysis (RCA)
- Explain the effect objectives have on finding
and message formulation
- Learn to write recommendations for process-oriented
and results-oriented audits that identify the
performance aspects and finding elements to be
developed and form an outline for the report
- Ensure audits are properly prepared, referenced and
linked to satisfy MQAS (Management Quality Assurance
Services) and external oversight
- Organize a finding that answers the audit objectives
using different outline methods and advance organizers
such as captions and topic sentences
- Draft key points including factual matters that support
condition statements
- Develop a “User-Friendly” writing style
- Enhance report readability with use of advance
organizers
